An important announcement regarding the summer at NewChurch LIVE... For those who might be unaware, we rent the space where we hold church on Sundays from The Academy of the New Church (see fundraising update below for more on this and other ways your gift supports NewChurch LIVE.) They have informed us that there is some much needed maintenance work set to take place over their summer break from school. Due to the nature of the maintenance it requires scaffolding to be set up and all of the seats to be removed from the theater for the duration of the project. It is because of this that we are being asked to move our Sunday services during this period of time (8-10 weeks) starting July 7th. Luckily they are providing an alternative location right across the way in their school auditorium. You can actually see it from the front steps of the Mitchell Center. Which means you can still park in the same parking lot and walk over to the new location. While we feel incredibly lucky to have a space to meet for the summer we are definitely going to be facing some challenges as a result of this change in venue. It is not designed for a large band and does not have the best acoustics. It does not have great lighting for both the in person and online experience. It does not have a main entrance, rather a side door that everyone will be entering and exiting from. It does not have a lobby for the kids program. And the list could go on... It does however provide a space for us to continue gather, create community, and worship together. It does have classrooms for the children to meet, it does have A/C (that they very kindly installed specifically for us over the summer), it does have comfortable chairs, it has live streaming capabilities (although it might be a little clunkier than our usual online experience), and it means we are able to continue to offer rich content throughout the summer months instead of having to close our doors. As is the nature with any maintenance or construction project there is some upheaval and for that we are incredibly sorry. We appreciate your patience and grace as we navigate this challenge for the summer. We know it is less than ideal...if I'm being honest, it stinks! Although if I know anything about this wonderful congregation we will rise to the occasion. We will turn this bummer of a situation into something positive. We will continue to show up for one another, we will continue to create an experience that many refer to as "a spiritual home", and we will continue to reach out into the community and serve. Thank you for your understanding and support through this difficult time. If anyone has any questions or concerns, please message us and we will do our best to provide more information, however please note that we are still figuring out logistics so may not know all the answers at this time, but will do our best to figure it out.

We wrapped up the Open Houses last night at Alex and Rodney's beautiful home. Another wonderful evening of connection and conversation. Thank you to the everyone who hosted! Thank you to everyone who attended. These Open Houses were a huge success and a great way to start the celebration of our 10 year anniversary and to look forward into the next 10.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Megan's family on her passing. Daughter of Bob Harmon, we are heartbroken over the loss.
